NAHB Honors Remodelers for Excellence in Aging in Place Rennovations

The National Association of Home Builders recently announced the winners of the annual Homes for Life awards, an honor given to two remodelers who demonstrate excellence in Aging in Place and Universal Design.

Susan Bachner of Lexington, KY earned the "Major Space" honors for her work in successfully remodeling a home to allow an elderly couple to live entirely on the first floor.

Sandra Rawls Oltmanns of Naples, FL received the "Single Space" honors for her work on an accessible kitchen, which allowed the wheelchair-bound homeowner to access cupboards, navigate the space seamlessly, and continue to cook using a custom cooktop on lifts.
