Driving Safety (by the numbers) in the US

Jan 11 2017

No matter how safe the car is there are always certain variables that are out of the control of car manufacturers. Accidents ranging from the small fender bender to a highway collision are unfortunately part of the risk when getting on the road. To track and report on this, government organizations like the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) gather fatal accident data in their Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) to help illuminate safety trends over the years.

Instamotor analyzed FARS data to determine the safest time of day to drive, in addition to which gender drives the safest and which state is the safest. Read more here or browse the graphs for findings.
